The idea
LAND · SEA · VIRTUAL
The Silk Roads carried more than goods. They carried ways of seeing.
Across continents and seas travelled stories, beliefs, images, instruments, languages and forms of knowledge. Every passage changed what was carried.
The Silk Road of Ideas continues that exchange through the virtual routes of our own time, bringing artists in different places into conversation and creative collaboration across distance.

The artists do not simply deliver finished works. Each brings original poetry, painting, music or performance into a creative exchange with Chris Mooney-Singh.
As creative director and filmmaker, Chris develops the visual approach, directs the screen performance and edits the material into a finished short film. The artist retains the voice and source work. The screen expression is made together.
